A late hello

If you’ve spent any time nosing around hatsuyume.net, or if you’ve popped a “like” on one of our posts as you’ve browsed WordPress, thank you. It means a great deal to us.

It’s probably time we poked our heads round the curtain to say hello. Hello!

In Japan, hatsuyume is the first dream of the new year. It’s a name that inspires us – and gives us hope – something which is in dwindling supply these days (or so it can seem).

But who is “us”? We’re a creative collective based in the heart of rural East Anglia in the UK. Whether we’re writing, painting, printing or taking photos, we take inspiration from the countryside around us and the nature within it.

Judy and James produce the vast majority of Hatsuyume’s output, though we work with a network of friends, colleagues and creative people when needed.

Our watchword is simplicity. How can we make this shorter, clearer or more elegant? It’s why our clients come to us. And it’s how we strive to improve in our creative pursuits. It’s what sets apart the things we love most.

Hatsuyume started as a place to put a small part of our creative output online. But since work has taken precedent we’ve posted less and less. This changes now. Hatsuyume is what we do. And we’d love to tell you all about it.

Thanks for reading. Stay tuned – and keep dreaming.
