Whisper on frozen water

A whisper on the frozen water.
A clear half-moon day.
A part- wind-spoken recollection.
“Remember me.”
You, alone, aloof, waiting in
Your usual place.
Listening in on insensible debate,
Never engaging
Except with a grin.
Waiting for us.
Waiting for her.
We didn’t know
Your secret plan.
You never said a thing.
So now we remember,
As instructed
By the wind.
